Oh no, it takes a looooot longer than ten minutes altogether, I just switch from panel to panel every ten minutes! I wish I were faster, but it basically does take a whole week per page. Sketches are done ahead of time in chunks so that we can make sure the pages flow together and finalize the dialogue. I’ll post some in progress stuff when I get back (on my phone in the airport now).  Thank you for your kind words! My best advice is keep drawing comics! They are a serious artistic workout. And start with something short, because then you’ll have something finished. And don’t redraw, at least not for a while. Keep moving forward! Ganbatte!

Awwh, thank you! Do not cry my dear ;_;

I’m not sure if you’re asking for advice, but drawing a comic is really good practice for drawing most kinds of things! It gets you outside of your comfort zone and gives you specific constraints. I often draw with a timer and don’t spend more than ten minutes on a panel at a time, rotating through each of them. Otherwise I’m likely to spend an hour trying to get details right before I notice that the whole panel doesn’t work. The first pass on a page can be so ugly that I don’t even want to show Wen haha. But little by little it comes together. I almost always act out the drawings, helps to make sure I’m drawing natural poses.

I hope that is not too much random detail! If you are interested in making comics, start now with some short stories. You level up quickly, I promise. :D Let me know if you have any particular questions about our process (though I’ll be away for a while after tomorrow).
